Which pockets does climate change fill? — a work by Mathius TO’ERAU

Autogenesis 23

WHICH POCKETS DOES CLIMATE CHANGE FILL?

Private interest has no morality.

The climate changes and always has. Humanity, meanwhile, has settled permanently in a world that has never stopped moving. It builds cities, roads, ports and houses, then turns the natural conditions of their location into a reference point.

Continents move, seas advance and retreat, glaciers appear and disappear, and species migrate. Their rhythms differ and their causes differ, but they all recall the same reality: nature guarantees no permanence.

This human immobility turns every lasting change into an economic, territorial and social risk. And when payment is required, individuals, their cars, fuel, homes or plane tickets are easy to identify and tax, while major international economic actors have far greater means to relocate, negotiate or circumvent the constraint.

The State collects. Companies receive subsidies, secure contracts and sell the equipment, insurance, advice and services created by these new obligations. The money truly circulates, but it circulates neither equally nor at random.

So the real question is simple: who decides the obligation, who pays, who receives, and which private interests eventually present themselves as a collective interest?

The greedy, disguised as wallet environmentalists, by turning every natural history into a human debt, will eventually turn tectonics into a land registry.

Private interest has no morality.

My intelligence begins where words arrive too late — a work by Mathius TO’ERAU

Autogenesis 22

To those who betrayed me.

I am not misunderstood; I am simply not properly heard.

My intelligence exists through the resonance of what I fully feel within my soul. I do not connect things because they resemble one another, but because they resonate within me and with one another.

My reasoning is not made of words, but of coloured waves that my consciousness attempts to decipher, like musical notes. My intelligence is born before words. Yet it needs them to give form to what resonates within me.

The metronome of my thought remains outside ordinary time. I move neither faster nor more slowly: I simply beat to another measure. From this difference comes my isolation in a world where my voice does not always find its echo.

I have never abandoned my childlike soul discovering the world. This candour is not naivety: it is my natural disposition towards wonder, trust and happiness. My consciousness, open to others, also exposed me to their particular interests, which throughout my life nourished my wounds and, in response, my need to create in order to protect my happy nature.

And so I cry out. That cry built my art and, at the end of my life, my art has become a work.

This work also carries what I have sought all my life: an impossible love of which I have known only ordinary flashes.

Could this freedom of thought be precisely what the creative spirit is?

Throughout my existence, I come up against the rigidity of certain ways of thinking when they act in bad faith. They prefer what they already know to what they are actually given to understand.

Making love to your own nothingness means becoming an environmentalist — a work by Mathius TO’ERAU

Autogenesis 21

THE NEW INQUISITORS

Pseudo-environmentalists blame humanity for global warming… while their cat lies in bed at home, before they let it roam freely outdoors. Yet it belongs to a species of predatory mammals that is particularly destructive to biodiversity. Worldwide, leading studies attribute at least 63 documented vertebrate extinctions to introduced cats: 40 species of birds, 21 mammals and 2 reptiles. In truth, what kind of sectarianism do these environmentalists serve?

In fact, these operetta environmentalists end up attributing an ever-growing number of natural phenomena to human activity. Let us take their logic to its conclusion: by preventing the sea from advancing, humanity will eventually even be accused of slowing down the continents and causing earthquakes.

In reality, the pseudo-environmentalist presumes to explain everything through human activity and to turn that explanation into a moral dogma, while forgetting this presumption when it comes to their cat.

Infinity does not return. It never left — a work by Mathius TO’ERAU

Autogenesis 20

INFINITY DOES NOT RETURN. IT NEVER LEFT.

Death is not the opposite of life. It is inscribed in the living from the moment life appears.

But perhaps nothing truly begins or ends.

Conception may be only the instant when infinity materialises in a particular form.

A being appears. A consciousness awakens. A singularity exists.

And at that same instant, we perceive its disappearance as certain.

Yet death does not destroy infinity; it merely undoes one of its forms.

We believe we appear. We believe we disappear.

Perhaps we merely materialise for a moment what never began and will never end.

Humility in the human being may be the thread that connects them to infinity.

The machine that decides in place of man destroys all human freedom — a work by Mathius TO’ERAU

Autogenesis 19

THE WEST OFFERS ITS CREATIVE GENIUS TO CHINA.

By rejecting safe protocols and imposing a single method, Western companies are gradually closing their AIs to the creative uses invented by their own users.

Asian actors can then legally take up these discoveries, integrate them into their own systems and industrialise them more rapidly, without having borne the initial cost of experimentation.

This loss of control does not concern only the competition between the West and Asia. It also makes the user more dependent on an AI that the user can no longer shape freely.

In short, through their systematic and sectarian manner of responding, Western artificial intelligences are progressively and, in fact, neutralising critical thinking. This commercial rigidity benefits precisely their competitors.

In reality, the less control users have over AI, the more dependent they become upon it; and the more dependent they become, the less capable they are of detecting its deviations.

A slave one day, a prisoner always.

Silence is the voice of anguish or contempt — a work by Mathius TO’ERAU

Autogenesis 18

I REFUSE TO REMAIN SILENT

With these few sentences, I pay tribute to the unknown people sacrificed for the bestial pleasure of cowardly psychopaths and sociopaths entrenched within the political, administrative and religious institutions that are coming to dominate today’s world.

For fear of going mad, I have never wished to visit the extermination camps or stay in a totalitarian country.

Yet, in the twilight of my life, I still feel within me the terrible suffering of the victims of those bastards.

The cowardice of every moment is a permanent suicide.

I have nothing left to prove, except the transmission of my work — a work by Mathius TO’ERAU

Autogenesis 17

THE CURSED ARTIST THROUGH DENIAL OF THE OTHER

The child who became an adult finally adopted himself.

He already knew his suffering without being able to express it. His silence contained my rupture, my anger and my work yet to come. For seventy-eight years, I gave a form of revolt to what remained mute. Through my art—Gommism, my Facettism, my Bégrité, my Surévism—but also through my jewellery in precious metals, my legends, my poetry, my novels and my humanist approach, I struggled against exclusion. Today, the portrait of me at seven, painted by my grandfather, is placed between two self-portraits on the home page of my site: https://mathius-toerau-art.alainmathius.chatgpt.site. The image comes to life: the child speaks. My static film lives fully: nothing moves, but your gaze sets the story in motion. Yes! The child knew, but he never knew how to say it. So, before his silence disappears with me, the child finally speaks to transmit the essence of my work.

I have always been free, and I did not know it. Today, it makes me laugh.

A human being who transmits nothing has lived in their animality.

Mathius TO’ERAU, the Suréviste

The tool may be common. The vision, mastery and work are not — a work by Mathius TO’ERAU

Autogenesis 16

I INVENT THE STATIC FILM

Today, at the end of my life, my palette of colours is digital, virtual. I have become the caveman who inscribes his life, his works, his archives and his thought upon the walls of his quantum cave. My wall of expression is made of dark matter; it is merely the shadow of matter from elsewhere. What I draw upon it becomes a static film that the visitor sets in motion by moving through my digital work: https://mathius-toerau-art.alainmathius.chatgpt.site (in French, English and Tahitian).

It is not merely an artist’s website, a virtual museum, an autobiography or a digital library: my work brings all these forms together within an evolving, visitable structure that is itself a work.

Since I fit into no known category of artist, I call this digital form: static film. A static film is a work whose elements are fixed, but whose reading is mobile. Nothing moves by itself: the texts, images, works and fragments of life remain still. Movement exists only through the visitor’s navigation, which arranges their succession and produces their montage.

I thus demonstrate a new way of creating with digital technology: I do not adapt my thought to the constraints of a program; through language, I directly direct the construction of my work. Artificial intelligence is neither its author, nor its co-author, nor its source of inspiration; it remains my tool of realisation. Thus, the form of my language remains at the service of my thought.

Every truth needs a form in order to be bearable — a work by Mathius TO’ERAU

Autogenesis 15

SCIENCE AND THE ARTISTIC CREATOR “Every truth needs a form in order to be bearable.”

Science breaks reality down in order to understand it; the artistic creator recomposes it in order to make it perceptible and acceptable. Neither can fully do without the other.

They are twins, like the two faces of Janus, cosmic black holes looking at the same reality from two opposite directions.

To human mediocrity, they are useless. To the greedy, they become a source of income.

The ancient Tahitians may already have sensed this. At death, the soul left Te Ao, the visible world of the living, to enter Te Pō, the dark and invisible world of the ancestors, before continuing its journey elsewhere.

Thus, what we now call the invisible, the dark or the immeasurable may have been, for them, neither emptiness nor nothingness, but another state of reality.

Every truth needs a form in order to be bearable.

Autogenesis 14

Without individual responsibility, humanity becomes everyone’s alibi. The denial of humanity or concealed misanthropy?

Could there be as many sociopaths as there are men and women on Earth?

Probably not. Yet structures of power do in fact produce sociopathic behaviour without every person involved being individually sociopathic.

The sociopolitical system dilutes responsibility through hierarchical obedience, professional interest, administrative language, fear of losing one’s position or the desire to become rich. In reality, each person carries out only one fragment, and no one recognises themselves as responsible for the final result.

Like a ladder with X rungs, this perverse effect of governance reveals sociopathy within humanity.

The lack of empathy is naturally bestial. Is it truly human?

If so, violence is not an anomaly of humanity; it is its norm. Wars bear witness to it.

Autogenesis 13

There are God and I, seated above him, laughing at your nothingness.

Taken literally, the sentence is absurd, and that very excess is the key to reading it.

Symbolically, when God remains silent, it is not to explain the world, but to reveal to the creative artist the immensity of the infinite that surpasses all human understanding. For it is indeed the artist, the one who creates in turn, who occupies this strange place. Facing the blank canvas, the artist knows the same silence attributed to God. By placing himself above God, the speaker adopts a posture so excessive that it turns against him. This laughter spares no one—not even the one who laughs, nor the artist who dares compare himself to God.

Dogma is the sophistication of bestiality when it ceases to be a search for truth and becomes a mechanism for protecting certainties.

The title’s sentence therefore does not seek to demean faith, but to overturn the reader’s gaze. The “nothingness” it targets is not merely that of others; it becomes the nothingness of every human certainty, including the certainty displayed by the creator who speaks.

The faith to create

Creation begins neither with an idea nor with a method. It begins with a faith that invades the soul.

This faith has neither name, master nor written word. For every dogma confines, every master directs and every text claims already to know.

The creator knows how to listen. The creator does not reproduce, but responds to a breath that surpasses without ever possessing or dispossessing. The creator draws inspiration from it.

That is why a true work does not impose itself and seeks no followers. The creator seeks only the resonance of beauty.

Art has no truth to transmit, but a presence to awaken.

Genius is an insult

Society endlessly urges us to revere “genius” as a divine grace. It is a necessary imposture for those who refuse to look at their own void. In reality, genius is not a gift; it is a label used by mediocrity to isolate the person it does not understand and lock that person away.

Yes! By sanctifying the artist, the mediocre reassure themselves.

Genius is an insult to reality. It is the crutch of those who fear nakedness. Creation is a pretension born of powerlessness; it is an act through which we desperately try to give form to our fragility so as not to collapse. Genius is merely a mask that hides fear.

I refuse to become a genius. I am the one who has understood the sophisticated cannibalism of the mediocre.

The three intelligences are the harmony of the Spirit

“Coherence alone mythologises the idea of Being.”

When we speak of intelligence, we first think of reason. Yet initiatory tradition teaches us that it manifests itself in three complementary forms.

The intelligence of the hands is that of Beauty: it creates, shapes and transforms.

The intelligence of the heart is that of Strength: it unites, loves and gives us the courage to act.

The intelligence of the mind is that of Wisdom: it illuminates, discerns and guides our choices.

Surévisme invites us to reunify these three intelligences. When the hands build with beauty, the heart acts with strength and the mind guides with wisdom, the human being builds a true inner Cathedral.

77 years of creating with a baccalauréat minus 30.

My existence is an immeasurable game whose only reality is the resonance of the void. Everything else—civilisation, technique, explanations—is merely superficial agitation.

My fellow humans are naturally inclined toward simulation. They turn their existence into a slow death without explaining our true function. Science and art bear witness to this.

Above all, condescension and contempt toward creators tend to demonstrate it.

Mathius TO’ERAU, the Suréviste

A work by Mathius TO’ERAU

Autogenesis 08

A perverse secret is the practice of the unspoken. When condescension destroys the social bond

Condescension is not a simple social blunder. It is the expression of contempt. Contempt destroys the mutual recognition upon which every social bond rests. One cannot despise someone while recognising that person as an equal; the two are mutually exclusive.

When a society normalises contempt, it loses more than politeness; it loses the moral bearings that allow one person to recognise another as a fellow human being.

What is true between two individuals is also true of institutions. The citizen exists because the city recognises that person as a political subject. The user needs no recognition; the user consumes a service that operates independently of all reciprocity.

The passage from citizen to user marks a rupture.

Reciprocity ceases to be the condition of the social bond and gives way to a manipulative bond.

The unspoken then becomes the system’s true cement. Everyone senses that a bond has broken, but the absence of words with which to name it allows the mechanism to endure.

The cruelty of self-centredness

The worst perverts are those who tell you: “You owe nothing to anyone.” Yet through their words, attitudes or silences, they make you understand that you owe them something.

This process is what specialists call a double bind: a mechanism of communication based on two contradictory injunctions, intended to make you feel guilty, destabilise you or disparage you, through the play of an invisible mirror in which the fault always seems to return to you, whatever you do.

The quantum effect entangles our singular loves

If physics is an inescapable truth, and if I follow string theory to its conclusion, every being is a unique vibration of the same fundamental string.

For according to quantum physics, when two vibrations recognise one another, they become entangled—instantaneously, without distance, without explanation—until an outside disturbance separates them.

Yet string theory cannot be demonstrated and remains an inspiring element for the quantum physicist.

Might love, then, be like string theory: inspiring and unprovable, while illuminating our void?

Our soul is like the rose, a symbol of secrets, revealing through its blossoming a beauty claimed to be perfect. Yet in reality this resembles the virtual that persists in the quantum vacuum. The rose is a symbol by analogy; it says nothing, but evokes the void of our loves in our physical world.

Yes! The quantum effect entangles our singular loves.

Autogenesis 05

WHAT WORLD DO I COME FROM?

If a virtual resonance remains in the quantum vacuum, and if that resonance could come from a parallel world inaccessible to our minds, then might intelligence be that resonance?

Above all, this hypothesis tends to show that our present physics may not exhaust the whole of reality, and that there may be realms of physics still beyond our knowledge.

If intelligence came from a parallel world, might we ourselves be the projection, or the virtual reality, of another reality beyond our physical world?

Might this be the doorway through which certain hypotheses of string theory could find a new interpretation of their physical meaning, linking our reality to a more fundamental reality still beyond our understanding?

Could this be why I have always felt that I was never truly at home on this Earth?

Contempt is the foam that hides the light of humanity — a work by Mathius TO’ERAU

Autogenesis 04

The foam (power) hides the light of the oceans (the world).

Any system that seeks to stupefy the multitude of individuals in order to control them better eventually stupefies itself.

Paradoxically, by eliminating all intellectual friction, contradiction and criticism in order to rule, power isolates itself within its own lie. From then on, in trying to make its target foolish, an authoritarian structure condemns itself to stupidity, loses its compass of reality, and finally ends in violence.

Immortality lies neither in what we possess nor in what we leave visibly behind, but in what we transmit before disappearing. Claiming to stand above others is the ego’s final trap as it seeks to impose itself; true power consists in injecting a spark of integrity or doubt into the current of the world, then withdrawing.

Political systems of power produce noise to occupy the slaves of time; the free human creates meaning to awaken consciousness to resonance.

“To our descendants” THE MENTAL REVOLUTION

The human who uses AI as a surface of resistance to be forced, not as an oracle, produces something that neither the human alone nor artificial intelligence alone could have produced. Millennia-old dogmas do not implode because AI is powerful. They implode because the human has created a tool equal to his own intelligence in motion. What AI executes at robotic speed is directed, through intuition, by the human using this digital tool. Creation is not in the machine; it is in the mind of the one who knows when something grates.

Yet this revolution is being built upon the ruins of an education that has surrendered.

Yesterday, young people rebelled, were slapped, and began again. The friction between them and authority formed the mind. Parents have since delegated education to the screen: television, video games, smartphone, AI. Not through malice, but through mental comfort and ignorance of the consequences.

The child now grows up with little friction from real authority. The mind regresses toward instinct, impulse and ancestral animality. This is not new. In the Middle Ages and Antiquity, the child was already sacrificed without a second thought. We are returning there silently, with a screen in our hands.

A child who passively consumes TikTok atrophies. I, confined to my bed at eighty and at the end of life, apply a lifetime of mental strategy to a machine and continue to develop my brain. Before I die in oblivion, robotics avenges me upon all those who believed that the expression of intelligence was their privilege.

Before every rebound, humanity always reaches rock bottom. Perhaps we are there. Wars and violence among the young bear witness to it.

The stronger sex is the one that gives life — a work by Mathius TO’ERAU

Autogenesis 02

IS THE STRONGER SEX THE ONE THAT GIVES LIFE?

Every human being begins to die on the day of conception.

From birth, we are taught that woman is the “weaker sex”.

It is taught without proof, as a truth handed down from the depths of time, and today this fact has become invisible.

Yet biology says the opposite.

It is the female who conceives, carries and produces life.

Who is weak here?

The contradiction is there, inscribed in science, medicine and demography. And yet education continues to transmit the reverse. Not because it is true, but because humanity is imprisoned by its dogmas.

This absence of critical thinking explains the mechanism of today’s educational failure: not ignorance, but the absence of questioning organised by the system for that purpose.

An education that does not train people to challenge its own foundations does not form minds. It manufactures conformity.

And today, we endure that failure.

This failure did not stop at the walls of schools. It was coded.

Public generative artificial intelligences came to the system’s rescue. AIs are trained on the dogmatic productions of our texts, books, beliefs and unresolved contradictions. They did not correct the failure. They amplified it, accelerated it and made it global.

The question is not: what are AIs worth in our schools?

The question is: does a school that manufactures conformity deserve to use and teach AI?

Biology answers up to this point. Beyond it lies another question with no verifiable answer.

By the way, do we come into the world alive or not?

For giving birth is not giving life; it is bringing someone into the world.

The universe is nothing but a traffic jam of waves — a work by Mathius TO’ERAU

Autogenesis 01

A CLARIFICATION to help the young.

AI is a tool, nothing more, and it “knows” nothing. Through statistics, it calculates a plausible answer.

I have never regarded artificial intelligence as a creative revolution, but as an artificial Down-syndrome intelligence. This term is not an insult; it is the observation of a profound social disability: that of those who no longer know how to use the tool and allow statistical probabilities to dictate their vision.

The marketing of AI companies is a massive deception. They want us to believe that the machine possesses a will of its own, whereas the reality is much simpler: the machine knows nothing; it does. It has no intention, no awareness of harmony, no depth. It is an empty box that people fill with their own laziness.

For me, the tool, whatever it may be, is only a source of light that I place upon my palette of ideas. Look at my work below: the difference is obvious. I do not generate “data” to fill feeds. I materialise a thought. My work is to retain total control of my will. If I delegate execution, it is to a tool that I steer, not to a machine that would decide in my place.

The real tragedy is to see graphic designers lose their talent in this race toward mercantilism. They have traded mastery of their gesture for a blind selection from a catalogue of pre-chewed forms. They have lost the muscle of decision. They have made themselves slaves to a visual “cinema” which, by endlessly looping, will eventually produce the same image every time: a soulless, smooth image, standardised by greed.

Knowledge cannot be delegated; it must be exercised. And as long as I am the one in command, the work will belong to me.
